Add Comment Photos: The Stage Frights 08/28/2011
Here are some snapshots from our show at Rudyard's, August 20th! There was a camera crew filming the whole show, so we'll have video soon to share :) Plenty of shows on the horizon... I'm developing a nice little set of calluses The Stage Frights: Photographic evidence 03/21/2011
My newest band, The Stage Frights, played March 13th at Resurrection Sunday at Dean's. Here are some pics from the debut show! It was dark, people were drunk and we were loud... Everything was as it should be Dark and moody, no? Spleen and Scarlett: Mistresses of Ceremony 02/28/2011
Here are some photos of myself with the lovely Scarlett St. Vitus at Underworld's12th Annual Gothic Beauty Pageant. We were Mistresses of Ceremony for the pageant portion and performed a spooky musical burlesque number for the intermission. Many thanks to the fabulous Azrael's Accomplice for making the hosting gowns (above) Frankenbilly and his Bride 11/03/2010
So, it being one year since our wedding, we decided to honor our nuptials by reprising our roles - only now as the living dead! I have to admit, our costumes were very easy. All I had to do was add a wig, painted stitches, and throw on some of my performance accessories while Larry painted himself green and added bolts. After last Halloween it was nice to do something that didn't require too much effort! However, the wig was a complete pain to deal with. It looked terrible when I got it and not at all like the photo on the package. I went at it with some scissors, hairspray and a blow dryer and after cutting away almost a third of the wig and using heat to uncurl all the fibers so that they'd point upwards, I managed to make it look alright. Oddly enough, the veiled eyeball rose hat is the one I made for our engagement pictures, though I wear a plain one at almost every show we play. We had a blast and ended up having our picture taken with a bunch of the trick-or-treaters who visited our house :) So tell me - what were you this Halloween? Halloween Wedding preview... 06/16/2010
Spleen Fan Art! 05/26/2010
Being someone's creative subject is very flattering and quite and honor. I wanted to share a few of the awesome Spleen inspired art pieces that have been sent to me... First, a sexy Winged Spleen! I wish I looked that good in my corsets Butterfly! This one is by far the most unique - besides the wings, I'm wearing pants! How awesomely creepy is that!! :) A very intense sketch by my friend Paul I was a reference model for a comic book and this is a guest artist pin-up of that character - a tattooed, crime fighting, hottie magician! Spooky Eye Candy! - model Scarlett St. Vitus 05/12/2010
A perfect porcelain doll draped in black velvet... a 1920's starlet wreathed in a halo of sinuous smoke... the beautiful enigma at the other end of the bar... the most exquisitely dressed woman in any room... the epitome of dark elegance ... of course I'm thinking of my favorite model, Scarlett St. Vitus! It would take up far too much space to include all of my favorite images of her, but here's a try There's nothing better than shooting with her... *sigh* Isn't she lovely? Look at me blush! Not only is she gorgeous, she's a fabulous DJ and has starred in a few horror movies. You can find more of her here Tea Party Bridal Shower 05/10/2010
I have a little obsession with tea parties. Something about the combination of pretty dishes, miniature sandwiches, tiny sweets and cakes makes me all giggly and girly. I even have subscriptions to tea theme magazines (a shock to some people). It may seem odd, but I know a number of spooky girls who have indulged their secret love of the tea party and had one. So, a few weeks before my Halloween wedding, my mother, grandmother and bridesmaids threw me a bridal shower and I jumped at the opportunity. The only input I had was "Tea party! Girly, pink, frilly, Marie Antoinette-esque tea party!". They completely blew me away... Everything was so pretty! To satisfy my sweet tooth there were gilt edged plates filled with glossy chocolate truffles, sugar coated cookies and plump little petit fours with tiny sugar rosebuds on top. There were roses galore in varying shades of pink - from brilliant fuchsia to pale blush They served silver platters stacked with tiny canapes of prawn and cucumber, smoked salmon and dill, strawberried cream cheese and cranberry chicken salad.
